Cholderton Charlie The Tractor!
“Cholderton Charlie” is our wonderful Fordson Major tractor and was made in 1955 (so he's now over 60 years old!)! He’s been providing tractor rides for us with his trusty trailer for over 30 years, so understandably he can be temperamental at times, especially when it comes to warming his engine up during the chilly winter months.. Tractor rides run twice a day at Weekends and during School Holidays at 12pm and 3pm and ONLY at 12pm Monday - Friday during Term Time. Tractor Rides are an additional £1 per person, under 2's ride for free.
Please call before you visit as Charlie's starter motor is being rather temperamental at the moment, meaning some days he is running and some days he isn't so check before you visit if it's something you're keen to do!
Wedding Day Tractor
In April 2015, we filmed for BBC3’s Don’t Tell the Bride, for the lovely Mark and Alex’s wedding reception! The Groom was a gentleman called Mark, from Westbury in Wiltshire, who decided on a “cider festival-farm-feel” for their special day and had just three weeks to plan the entire function on a budget of £12,000 (paid for by the TV show). Alex, Mark’s bride was allowed absolutely no contact with Mark during this time, which meant the whole day was a huge, but fabulous, surprise for her. The tractor was used to take Mark, Alex and their gaggle of 120+ guests down onto the farm, where the marquee and fete tents were all set up, ready for their reception which went on until the small hours of the morning. They also enjoyed a pig race, and they even got in the pen with the pigs too!
